Investing in the Future of Dolomitengolf
We are delighted to share an important project for the future: we are investing around one million euros in the comprehensive renovation of our fairways. Our aim is to safeguard course quality in the long term and to further enhance Dolomitengolf Resort – the only 36-hole golf course in Tyrol.
In recent years, the winter months have posed special challenges. Instead of a protective blanket of snow, we have increasingly faced heavy rainfall followed by extended frost periods. The result has been widespread frost damage on the older fairways of the Blue, Red, and Green courses. This damage occurs because drainage is insufficient, course shaping is no longer up to modern standards, and the soil has become compacted after decades of play. In spring, this often left us with no choice but to re-seed large areas – a process that could delay top playing conditions well into early summer.
After intensive preparation and following the official approval from local authorities, we can now begin: On October 13, 2025, renovation work will start on the 9-hole Blue Course. Seeding will be completed before winter sets in, so that the new grasses can take root in spring. The Blue Course is scheduled to reopen in mid-May 2026. Renovation of the Red and Green courses will follow in subsequent years, ensuring that disruptions to play are kept to a minimum.
During construction, play will remain varied and enjoyable: thanks to our four combinable 9-hole loops, 27 holes will continue to be available. Our Pro Shop team will make every effort to ensure smooth operations and sufficient tee times at all times.
This renovation is about more than repairing damage. Improved drainage and modern course shaping will provide greater resilience and consistent quality – while also making the layout more engaging. New design elements such as strategic bunkers will add excitement and elevate the playing experience. The project is being planned by our long-standing friend and partner Diethard Fahrenleitner, executed by Head Greenkeeper Daniel Mentil and an experienced construction company that also built our modern Silver Course – a benchmark for outstanding architecture and durability.
Dolomitengolf Resort already ranks among the finest golf destinations in the Alps. With this investment program, we reaffirm our commitment to the highest standards – and promise our guests and members the best possible conditions and unforgettable golfing experiences in the years ahead. We look forward to welcoming you soon on even more beautiful fairways.
Warm regards,
The Hamacher Family & the entire Dolomitengolf Team
